CCONS Volunteer Opportunities

There are many opportunities to volunteer and support our oncology patients in the community. Check out the list below to see ways to connect with other great organizations.

Columbus nonprofits supporting cancer patients:

American Cancer Society Volunteer Opportunities - a full list of events can be found after you register at this link. Here are a couple opportunities that our committee would like to highlight:

  • PanOhio Hope Ride raises money and 100% will go to Cleveland Hope Lodge. Cyclists ride from Cleveland to Columbus, to Cincinnati or vice versa.
  • Drive for Life, Columbus Golf Classic: Established in 1980, Columbus’ Golf Classic is one of the longest running and most profitable golf events in central Ohio benefiting the American Cancer Society – with 100% of the proceeds going directly to support cancer prevention and early detection education, patient support services, research and advocacy efforts.
  • Road to Recovery: For those who cannot drive themselves or have no other means of getting to their treatment, our Road To Recovery volunteers donate their spare time to give cancer patients a much-needed lift.
  • C2C: The C2C Relay Run is a relay-style running adventure for teams of eight to raise money for the fight against cancer.

Cancer Support Community:  As the largest professionally led nonprofit network of cancer support worldwide, the Cancer Support Community is dedicated to ensuring that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.

LifeCare Alliance volunteer page: LifeCare Alliance supports the Columbus Cancer Clinic. Current opportunities to volunteer include Meals-on-Wheels, food and pantry support, or pet food delivery. The volunteer page is updated with priority needs.

Pelotonia: Founded in 2008, Pelotonia was established with the objective to fund innovative cancer research. Pelotonia is a three-day experience that includes a weekend of cycling, entertainment, and volunteerism. Through its first twelve rides, Pelotonia raised more than $217 million for cancer research.
