Plans and coordinates monthly continuing education programs for the chapter. Uses the needs assessment data to identify topics, speakers, and sponsors. The monthly committee activities include applying for continuing education approval, managing the registration process, working with the sponsors to plan dinners, reviewing evaluation forms and submitting reports to national. Provides high quality, timely, stimulating and creative educational sessions intended for oncology nurses or medical/surgical nurses who care for oncology patients.

Cardio-Oncology: A Key Component of Contemporary Cancer Care 

Dr. Daniel Addison, Director of the Cardio-Oncology program at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, will discuss the intersection of cardiology and oncology in cancer treatment, address the prevalence of cardiovascular disease among cancer patients, and outline specific treatment and management strategies to reduce heart problems and improve patient outcomes.
