I hope you are doing well and enjoying these beautiful NH days!

As a fellow NH oncology nurse and Capitol Hill Days alum, I wanted to reach out and let you know about my candidacy for the NH Executive Council. This year, 44% of our NH budget is related to health and human services  and the Council has great impact on how money is budgeted acorss the state. This year, our state budget is almost $8 billion.

The five member Executive Council sits with the Governor and approves all contracts and budget items over $10,000, approves all appointments to commissions and boards including nursing, approves appointments for judges including the Supreme Court, and votes on accepting federal money. However, the Council has been rubber stamping many contracts and voting by political party versus in the interests of our citizens and patients. For example, during the last five years the Council has rejected funding from Washington for family planning services in NH. They have rejected federal money if a contract mentions DEI. 

We need to advocate for our patients and our profession.
