PURPOSE:
Carlie Beaudin NP OCN began her career as a nurse extern at Froedtert Hospital in 2005. Upon graduating Nursing School, she worked as a Bone Marrow Transplant nurse at Froedtert and then became a Nurse Practitioner with the Hem/Onc/BMT program at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Carlie was smart, caring, talented, kind and the ultimate patient advocate. She represented the true essence of oncology nursing.
Carlie died tragically in 2019. She was 33 years old. Carlie made a difference to so many patients and touched many lives. To keep her legacy alive, the Southeastern Wisconsin Oncology Nursing Society (SWONS) is honored to offer the Carlie Beaudin Memorial Scholarship fund.
This scholarship will be awarded to a Southeastern Wisconsin Oncology Nurse in pursuit of their continuing education.
SCHOLARSHIP:
Advanced Education scholarship award of $500.
CRITERIA:
1) Current ONS/SWONS Membership.
2) Attendance at one or more SWONS membership meetings in 2020. Due to the pandemic of 2020, we will waive this requirement for applicants. Please note this will be a requirement in future years.
3) Current enrollment or application to a masters or doctorate nursing program.
4) Complete and attach an essay of up to 250 words explaining your passion for Oncology and plans for how you will use your advanced education to impact Oncology Nursing.
5) Submit receipt of tuition, along with receipt of passing grade.
