With a research to practice gap of 17 years, it is essential that PhD and DNP prepared nurses are coming together to not only generate new knowledge in the field of oncology nursing, but to implement it into practice more seamlessly. Despite this, the existence of two doctoral level degrees for nurses has led to role confusion and competition for similar roles within organizations that negatively impacts optimal collaboration. At the 49th annual ONS Congress, the PhD-DNP Think Tank will seek to create innovative solutions to this problem.
We are looking for individuals registered to attend ONS Congress to participate who:
- View themselves as change agents
- Are willing and motivated to confront uncomfortable truths and persistent issues toward a better future state
- Are highly inquisitive or have a curious nature
- Have Out-of-the-box, agile and flexible thinking and creativity
- Hold a PhD, DNP, (or are in a graduate program working toward the completion of one of these degrees completing one of these degrees) or are a leader or administrator who oversees positions within their organizations filled by PhDs or DNPs.
