The Oncology Nursing Foundation is looking for volunteers to join our grants and scholarship review teams for 2022!
Are you interested in a volunteer opportunity you can do on your own time from your own home? Taking part in the foundation's review team is a great way to bolster your resume/CV and provides flexibility to accommodate your schedule. Reviewer qualifications and time commitment vary by program (see below).
Time commitment:
- Congress, BMT, & Leadership scholarships: roughly 2 weeks to review 10-15 applications at 10-15 minutes each (avg. 3.5 hours)
- Academic scholarships: roughly 3 weeks to review about 15-20 applications (depending on degree) at 15 minutes each (avg. 3.75 hours)
- Research Grants: 1 month to review 2-3 grant proposals at 3-5 hours each (depending on experience)
Requirements and timeline for review team:
- Academics- must hold a BSN, Masters, PhD, or DNP degree (will review at the degree level of which you hold)
- Ceira Boyle Student Congress Scholarship- must have attended a previous in-person congress
- BMT- must have 3-5 years experience in BMT
- Leadership – must be in a leadership role
- Congress Scholarship- must have attended a previous in-person congress
- Review period: early December
- Research – must have a PhD and successfully completed a research grant as Principal Investigator
- Review Period: May- July (depending on role)
- Research Intensive- Faculty must be senior nurse scientist and able to review 2 early-career investigator grants proposals & participate in an in-person mock study section
- Review period: May-June (includes in person meeting)
