    TONS Excellence in Clinical Practice Award
    Recipient will be announced at the December 2021 meeting and awarded a $250 cash prize and framed certificate
    Eligibility Criteria:
    -Current TONS member
    -Nomination by current TONS member (self-nominations are allowed)
    -Hold an active NC RN license
    -Have at least two years of oncology nursing experience

    Application Materials:
    -Nomination narrative statement <500 words
    -Nominee’s résumé or curriculum vitae

    Application Instructions:
    -Narrative statement should demonstrate how the nominee demonstrates each of the scoring criteria described below.
    -Submit application materials to hirschey@unc.edu by Nov 30th 2021

    Scoring Criteria:
    -Serves as a role model for oncology nurses
    -Engages in or leads diversity, equity, and inclusion activities related to oncology nursing and/or improvements in patient outcomes
    -Promotes a culture of safety and quality in oncology clinical practice
    -Fosters professional development of self and others
    -Demonstrate a significant contribution to professional/patient education
    -Engages community resources for patients, family, staff as warranted
    -Presents at local, regional, national oncology nursing meetings and conferences
    -Evidences participation in community activities to promote cancer care and prevention (e.g. cancer screening, fundraisers, community or school education)
