ONS Bridge is ONS’s annual virtual conference offering held in September, tailored for nurses in direct patient care.
The ONS Bridge content planning team is responsible for identifying and working with conference speakers on assigned session themes from the conference agenda. Volunteers in this role are expected to plan, implement, and evaluate educational offerings that address current practice issues identified by ONS and the needs of the target audience. Applications are reviewed by the ONS Bridge team leader, and telephone interviews are conducted in November for selection. ONS Bridge content planning team members must be an ONS member in good standing.
Selected team members will be notified in December 2022.
Conference Dates: Two live session dates mid - September, 2023 with 2 additional roundtable networking days (dates to be finalized before team interviews in November).
Time Commitment:
Participants spend one year on the team, with the opportunity to reapply for a second year. There is also the potential to serve as team leader in your second or third year. The time commitment includes:
Initial ONS Bridge planning call in January 2023, two 4-hour calls, dates finalized upon team selection
Monthly conference calls, 90-minute duration, beginning February 2023
Two 4-hour conference planning call for session slide reviews July 15 & 16 or 22 & 23, 2023 (dates and times to be finalized after team selection)
Session development, 10–20 hours, working with speakers prior to the conference
Moderate sessions and monitoring live Q&A during the virtual conference
Moderate a roundtable discussion on additional roundtable networking day
Participate and help manage ONS Bridge throughout all virtual conference dates
