The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and the Oncology Nursing Foundation (ONF) invite volunteers to apply to serve on the ONS & ONF Oncology Nurse Practitioner Advisory Panel.
The ONS & ONF Oncology Nurse Practitioner Advisory Panel aims to advise the ONF and ONS staff and our boards on workforce challenges, professional development gaps, and solutions to sustain nursing excellence. Volunteers will be tasked with advising ONS and ONF on ways to highlight the value and impact of oncology nurse practitioners and identify trends and unmet needs to guide future funding, programming and educational initiatives. Volunteers will provide focused feedback on specific questions to advise and/or make recommendations for the staff or board consideration.
TIME COMMITMENT:
Volunteers are expected to commit to attending 2 – 3 virtual meetings per year and actively participate in discussions. Pre-read materials and meeting objectives will be provided prior to each meeting. Estimated time commitment is 12 hours per year. Standard term limits will be 1 – 2 years (2nd year upon invitation).

ONS membership is not required to apply.
All applicants must be:
Practicing nurse practitioners from any care setting working with oncology patients (e.g., inpatient/outpatient, community/academic, administrative, education) or recently retired nurse practitioners
Selected participants will have the following responsibilities for the duration of their term limit:
- Attend and actively participate in meetings.
- Complete assigned pre-work, including reviewing materials, surveys, and providing feedback by deadlines.
- Share consultative input and experience-based insights on designated topics, staying within the panel’s scope.
- Respond to occasional outreach between meetings as needed.
