The Oncology Nursing Foundation is recruiting volunteers to review the 2025 Leadership Scholarship applications. In order to be eligible to review, you must currently hold a leadership role.
The Oncology Nursing Foundation’s Leadership Scholarship is funded by the ONS Past Presidents, the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation and the Sandy Purl Fund. This program supports a registered nurse, working in oncology, interested in developing their leadership skills to improve cancer care by attending a leadership continuing education program.
Recipients are awarded up to $3,000 to attend a leadership nursing continuing education program of their choice. The program/course may not be a component of a more extensive non-leadership course (i.e. ONS Congress).
Below is the application timeline for the Leadership Scholarship:
Application Opens – March 15, 2025
Applications Due – September 15, 2025
Volunteers are asked to apply by July 15, 2025. Eligible volunteers for this review will be notified by August 15, 2025.
TIME COMMITMENT:
The Leadership Scholarship review period allows reviewers a little over three weeks to complete their assignments (final review scores will be due on Friday, October 10th).
Review Begins – Wednesday, September 17, 2025
Review Scores Due – Friday, October 10, 2025 (due by 11:59pm Eastern Time)
Each reviewer will be assigned 5-8 applications, which can take from 10-15 minutes each to complete. The overall time commitment anticipated for this review is approximately 3.50 hours.
