The Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing (CJON) Writing Mentorship Program is seeking oncology nurses who are looking to expand their writing skills by drafting a scholarly manuscript with mentoring support from an experienced nurse writer. During a six-month period, these mentees are supported by a mentor to develop, draft, and finalize an original manuscript that advances the foundation of clinical oncology nursing. On completion of the program, the final draft of the manuscript is submitted for peer review and publication consideration in CJON.
Mentee candidates should have experience in oncology nursing, a topic that they are interested in writing about, and an explanation of why their proposed topic is important to oncology nurses in clinical practice.
Mentee candidates will need to explain how their proposed topics fit the requirements for manuscript submissions to CJON, as well as be willing to agree to the terms and conditions of the mentor–mentee agreement (e.g., time outside of the normal business hours for CJON Writing Mentorship Program work, open communication with mentor, agreement to adhere to the suggested program timeline). Mentors and mentees will be matched by the CJON editor based on areas of expertise and/or proposed manuscript topic.
