Description:

Serve as a Research abstract reviewer and help shape the ONS Congress educational experience. Abstract reviewers blind-review submissions from peers for presentation at ONS Congress.

  • Abstract submissions are open August 10-September 24, 2026.
  • The review period lasts three weeks following each submission deadline.
  • Reviewers may also apply to review abstracts in the evidence-based practice/quality improvement, industry-supported, late-breaking research, and late-breaking industry-supported categories.
    • Please note: you must be PhD-prepared to review research abstracts.

A review rubric is provided to support accurate and consistent scoring. Each abstract is reviewed by three reviewers, and scores are averaged to determine whether the submission is accepted for an oral presentation, accepted for a poster presentation, or declined. Your expertise helps ensure a fair, thoughtful review process and a high-quality conference.

Time Commitment

  • Abstract reviews will be assigned September 28-October 1, 2026, and reviewers will have until October 22, 2026, to complete their assignment. Each reviewer will be assigned approximately 10–20 abstracts.
  • Meeting posted deadlines is essential to support timely notification of acceptance and declination decisions.
  • To help reviewers feel prepared and confident, drop-in sessions will be offered during the weeks of September 21 and September 28 to provide an overview of the abstract review process and answer questions.
