Hello,
My name is Rebecca Boni and I am an oncology nurse and faculty at Oakland University School of Nursing researching the professional quality of life (PQOL) of oncology nurses. I have been an oncology nurse and have been interested in this topic since 2005. My team and I are doing a research study to examine oncology nurses' PQOL throughout the U.S.
Participants
You are being asked to participate in the study because you are an oncology nurse. If you choose to be in the study, you will click on the link below. Then, you will respond to brief screener questions to determine your eligibility for the study. If you are not eligible, the survey will end, and you will not receive payment. You must be at least 18 years or older to participate. If you are eligible, the survey will continue. You will not receive any compensation for participating.
Procedures – If you volunteer, you will be asked to:
1. Read the information sheet.
2. Completing an online survey that is comprised of four surveys: the Oncology Nurses' Professional Quality of Life Questionnaire, the Healthy Work Environment Assessment Tool, the Utrech Work Engagement Survey, and a demographic questionnaire.
a. The survey should take you between about 15 minutes.
b. Participation is voluntary and you can stop at any time without penalty.
Potential Risks:
For this study, the potential risks are minimal. Reading or answering some of these survey questions may trigger a negative emotional response as you reflect on challenging times as an oncology nurse. No identifiable data that can directly be linked to you are collected. Results will be reported without any identifying information. There may be a risk that someone who is not part of this research may accidentally see your personal information. We will try to make sure that this does not happen by keeping your research records as confidential as possible. When the results of this research are published or presented at conferences, no information will be included that personally identifies you.
