This exciting position offers a highly competitive, internal funding package for research expansion, and the opportunity for a joint appointment at the  Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey . Located on the New Brunswick campus, the comprehensive  C a ncer Institute of New Jersey  is the first and only  NCI -designated cancer institute in the state. The successful candidate will be a senior level PhD-prepared researcher with a record of externally funded and oncology-related research, expertise in oncology nursing, and experience in academic and clinical settings. The goal of this endowment is to advance oncology nursing research, education, and evidence-based practices. The Chair will work collaboratively with nursing colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines. Rutgers School of Nursing is located within a comprehensive research-focused university, offers degrees ranging from pre-licensure nursing to the PhD in Nursing, and is a member of one of the most comprehensive academic health centers in the nation.   • Newark, New Jersey, Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Cancer Center) position is to administer total patient care based on individualized needs of assigned patients and families in accordance with professional nursing standards.  The Staff Nurse will utilize knowledge of chemotherapy and radiation oncology procedures to assess, screen, evaluate, educate and provide care management/outcome management in accordance with professional nursing standards to adult patients who are under the care of the Outpatient Oncology Services team.  The role of the RN includes practice/office support.  Demonstrates team approaches at all times, and demonstrates flexibility by rotation between Oncology Services as required.  Shows a working knowledge of UH, Joint Commission & DOH regulations.  Participates in evidence based nursing and related QA and PI endeavors. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current license to practice in the State of New Jersey required.  BSN preferred.  BLS required.  Current ACLS for healthcare professionals preferred or must obtain within six (6) months of hire.  Current IV/Venous Access Device Certification preferred or must obtain within three (3) months of employment.  Some hospital nursing experience preferred.  Willing to train those with no previous oncology experience.  Obtains Radiation Oncology certificate program within twelve (12) months of hire.  Essential requirements also include working predetermined flexible hours.   University Hospital offers a competitive salary & comprehensive benefits package.   • Englewood, New Jersey, Englewood Health, an award winning community teaching hospital, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (APRN) to join  Englewood Health’s oncology team.    This incredible opportunity will provide the ideal candidate to work among New Jersey’s best to provide exceptional patient care in our growing cancer program which includes our specialized inpatient nursing unit and state-of-the-art Infusion Center and Radiation Oncology suite. The APN will be an expert clinician and patient advocate in oncology. The APN can be a credentialed Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist. The Advance Practice Nurse is involved in activities with the goal of improving the quality of care across the continuum within this specialized area of practice.  The APN reviews pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of oncologic health problems and participates in education, protocol and standards development, and research in collaboration with all disciplines including our Magnet designated nurses.
