  • Wilmington, Delaware, Nemours Children's Health seeks a renowned and accomplished physician scientist to become the new Division Chief, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). The new Division Chief, reporting to the Chair of Pediatrics, will lead the division, serve as Director of the Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders and hold the $5 million Moseley Foundation Institute Presidential Endowed Chair. The Institute Director will work with the Chair of Pediatrics and the Moseley Foundation to recruit a holder for a sickle cell endowed chair and will help direct the distribution of $30 million in endowed research funds. The foundation has pledged a $78 million donation in the support of new programs that improve ways to treat pediatric cancer and blood disorders. The Division Chief, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT will be instrumental in leading and expanding the current program both clinically and scientifically. He/she will build upon a group with a strong foundation and history. Nemours Children's and the Moseley Foundation Institute are committed to providing comprehensive state-of-the-art patient care. He/she will lead and build the current division, enhance current research and clinical trials, and grow the program through the recruitment of new faculty and superior clinical practice. This leader should have a robust track record of scientific, clinical, and academic success; proven leadership skills to collaborate and build a successful interdisciplinary patient-centered program; and experience and ability leading clinical trials in medical oncology. An established track record of extramural funding and ongoing work in cancer research is preferred. Manages care given to Beebe Medical Center clients during outpatient clinic visits and inpatients when requested. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center policies. Follow(s) established nursing standards, procedures, guidelines and protocols and gives specific patient care directions to patients, families, nursing and other staff when appropriate. Responsibilities Patient Assessments. Performs comprehensive assessments, utilizing focused medical and psychosocial history and physical examination. Keeps physician(s) informed, as is appropriate, of needs and problems related to patient care. Critical thinking/Evaluation and Interpretation of Diagnostics. Demonstrates critical thinking, prioritization, and time management skills based on patient assessment and interpretation of test results. Documentation. Effectively maintains confidential records, completes documentation timely, accurately and consistently, and reports findings as patient's condition requires. Documentation always provides justification for therapies ordered and reimbursement for services rendered. Comprehensive Plan of Care. Works in collaboration with attending physician to develop a comprehensive plan of care based on current theories and advanced clinical knowledge and expertise to include selection of appropriate pharmacologic agents, referrals and end of life care. Performance of Clinical Treatments and Procedures. Implements clinical treatments based on expert knowledge and technical competency to patients within specialty area. Makes referrals when appropriate. Communication. Communicates in a positive manner with physicians, patients, families, and co-workers. Demonstrates ability to facilitate positive relationships with all contacts. Communicates needed information to co-workers and supervisors and seeks answers to current issues, providing pertinent information to supervisors. Patient Education. Provides health education to patients and families regarding drugs and management of side effects, anticipatory teaching. Keeps current by attending continuing education programs, review of the literature related to clinical practice, or through writing publications. Research. Manages and participates in clinical trials program in the cancer center, including supervision of research nurses, ledgers for volumes and revenue and regular reporting of progress.   • Freehold, New Jersey, The  Nurse Educator  is responsible for planning, development and documentation of clinical orientation and continuing education programs for nursing staff. Assists in maintaining quality patient care by educating health care providers in current practice and procedures; and provision of patient, family and community education as required in accordance with ANA standards, the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act, Joint Commission, specialty organizations and established hospital and Nursing Department policies and procedures in accordance with evidenced based nursing practice. Collaborate in designing, evaluating and revising unit specific educational programs (e.g. competency-based orientation, skill testing and continuing education) on the basis of pre-identified learning needs, patient outcomes, internal/community standards of practice and current theory/research (e.g. best practices). Anticipates, where possible, future individual and group learning needs.
