● Upcoming meetings will be virtual for the time being as our groups are too large for in person meetings. We will reassess as our world continues to deal with COVID 19
● In addition to our vendor sponsored virtual events the Board wanted to bring a special & supportive program to our members. We are excited to sponsor Selinza Mitchell who will focus on stress management & surviving changes. Topics that resonate with all of us this spring! Mark your calendars for 6/17 at 630pm. You will receive a virtual Zoom invite in the near future.
● The ONS Mara Mogensen Flaherty Memorial Lectureship will be given virtually on Zoom this Wed., 5/27/20 @ 4pm EST. This year's topic will be:Compassionate Care and Resiliency in Oncology Nursing Presented by this Year’s Awardee: Susan Childress MN,

● Virtual patient resources such as the Cancer Support Community North Texas (CSCNT) are available. In less than a month when COVID changed everything, they had 7,821 views of their workshop presentations and offered 45 groups. They have had a plan in place to reach those not near a clubhouse or who are too ill to attend for several
months. They were able to accelerate this plan and it is definitely working! Please email us other patient resources that may be helpful at this time. We can compile a resource and make this available to members.
● Education opportunities:
○ 1-hour, ANCC-accredited presentation entitled, Traversing New Terrains in CLL: The Emerging Role of BTK Inhibitors in the Treatment Landscape.
○ 4 module CE activity: When caring for an individual with a rare disease—including rare cancers—who has exhausted standard treatments or for whom there are no treatments available, exploration of clinical trials may be
warranted. However, many care team members and their patients may not know where to begin.
○ ONS congress will be going virtual. Registration opens June 8, 30 CEUs with ILNA credit available.
● Keep an eye out for upcoming virtual social activities being planned. We are considering painting with a twist, book club, ect.
