Application deadline for the PA Student Loan Relief for Nurses Program is March 1, 2022. The program offers financial incentive in the form of student loan relief, for nurses who have worked tirelessly in the COVID 19 pandemic, to continue in the nursing profession.
PA nurses should apply ASAP for this unprecedented program which can offer $2,500 /yr toward student loan payment for a total of three consecutive years. The program can be retroactive to 2020.
For nurses to be eligible for the program they must be:
- RN, LPN, CRNP, Clinical Specialist, Midwife
- Practicing in approved PA institution providing nursing: hospitals, homecare, outpatient facilities, schools, assisted care, long-term care facilities and prisons system
- Nurses must reside in PA
- Nurses must practice in a PA healthcare setting – employment must have begun prior to December 31, 2021
- Nurses must hold a PA nursing licensed
- Perform job related duties that were impacted by COVID-19 pandemic
- Works a combined 1,250 hours across the qualifying 12-month period (Jan-Dec) – annual, sick and FMLA leave count as employment time
- Have outstanding qualifying student debt that is in good standing
