Seeking Cervical Cancer Nursing Experts to Lecture at Course in Kathmandu, Nepal, November 14-16, 2019

ONS and ASCO are developing on a Multidisciplinary Cancer Management Course (MCMC) in Kathmandu, Nepal, November 14-16, 2019. We are looking for two oncology nurses with expertise in cervical cancer to provide a nursing perspective at this international, clinically-focused, interactive meeting. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

ONS faculty will participate in the MCMC as panel members during case discussions and tumor boards along with physician experts from around the world. 100 physicians and nurses from Nepal and surrounding countries are expected to attend the MCMC.

In addition, we ask ONS faculty to develop and teach a 6-hour cancer basics course for (oncology) nurses during a pre-conference nursing day. We anticipate 50 nurses from Kathmandu and surrounding areas to attend.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in cervical cancer management and colposcopy
  • Proven ability to teach nurses and other healthcare professionals with an effective, positive, and flexible teaching style
  • Willing to meet deadlines, and independently plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate presentations
  • Must be adaptable and possess cultural humility
  • Ability to travel for 5-7 days, depending on location
  • Must be an ONS member in good standing.

ONS and organizers will pay for economy airfare, hotel, food and beverage expenses and offer a modest honorarium. To enter Nepal, US citizens are required to have a visa and a passport with at least six months validity remaining at the time of entry.
