ONS Bridge is ONS’s annual virtual conference offering held in September, tailored for nurses in direct patient care.
The ONS Bridge content planning team is responsible for identifying topics and speakers, then working with the speakers on their assigned sessions for the conference. Volunteers in this role are expected to plan, implement, and evaluate educational offerings that address current practice issues identified by ONS and the needs of the target audience.
Applications are reviewed by the ONS Bridge team chair, and telephone or video interviews are conducted in late October - November for selection. ONS Bridge content planning team members must be an ONS member in good standing.
Selected team members will be notified in late November 2024.

Conference Dates:
Two-day live sessions mid - September 2025 with the potential for 1 additional roundtable networking day (dates to be finalized before team interviews).
Time Commitment:
Participants spend one year on the team, with the opportunity to reapply for a second year. There is also the potential to serve as team chair in your second or third year if invited.
The time commitment includes:
· Initial ONS Bridge planning call will be held on January 11 and 12, 2025, for 4 hours each day. Homework will be provided in December to prepare for the January meetings.
· Monthly conference calls, 90-minute duration, beginning February 2025. Dates and Time will be finalized at the January meeting. These meetings may occur during or after work hours.
· Two 4-hour weekend meetings for session slide reviews, July 12 & 13, 2025.
· Session development (4 sessions), 10–20 hours per session, working with speakers prior to the conference.
· Moderate sessions and monitor live Q&A in your planned sessions during the virtual conference.
· Participate and engage with ONS Bridge attendees throughout all virtual conference dates.

No conference planning experience is required, although applicants should have at least 5 years oncology nursing experience and proficiency in using Microsoft365 products. Due to ANCC requirements, industry employees are not eligible to participate. Preference will be given to those who have not previously been part of a planning team or other ONS leadership opportunities. Applicants need to be a United States or Canadian resident.
