Tips for Writing a Novel
Writing a novel is a dream for many writers, but it is not an easy undertaking by any means. A successful novelist takes great measures to hone their skills and develop their style in order to create something meaningful to their readers. If you are having trouble writing a novel or essay, you can get the

Before you begin writing your own novel, consider the following tips to help you along the way.
Get Inspired
Writing a novel is a commitment, so it is very important to know exactly what it is that you want to write. Without some direction, you will have a hard time finishing your work, and your reader will certainly have a hard time following it. Find something that can serve as inspiration for your writing and help you become clear on what you would like your reader to take away from your book.
Create an Outline
To ensure that your novel will have a clear plot that makes sense, you need to develop an outline for your novel before you ever begin writing. Your outline should answer the basic questions surrounding the who, what, when, where, why, and how of your story, and you should be satisfied with all of these elements before attempting your novel.
Develop Your Characters
As the author of a novel, it is crucial for you to understand the characters of your own story. Make sure you fully develop the protagonist, antagonist, and any secondary characters involved in the story so you can give them life and believably represent who they are. Getting a good picture of the characters prior to writing will help you paint a good picture for your future readers.
Create Your First Draft
Once you have outlined the plot and developed your characters, you can finally start putting your story together by writing a first draft. During this stage of writing, getting the story on paper is most important, and you should expect your first draft to be messy and very raw. Essentially, this will be the jumping point for your novel and give you a great foundation to build on and edit.
Check Facts
Regardless of the subject matter for your novel, you may need to do some research and fact checking. An obvious element for non-fiction work, fact checking is also crucial to the development of a fiction story as it ensures your story is believable and makes sense to the reader.
Don’t Cram
If you over work yourself as you are trying to complete your novel, your reader will likely notice and your work will suffer. Instead of barreling through bouts of writer’s block, take plenty of breaks as you are writing to clear your mind. Your best work is liable to happen when you can focus and let your ideas flow freely.
Edit
Once you have created a draft of your story, critique your own writing for
consistency
and readability. Make sure that your characters are well developed and interesting. Also, remove elements of the story that are not pertinent to the development of the plot. In the same way that a good recipe should not include any irrelevant ingredients, your novel should not include unnecessary details.
