Description:

ONCC is seeking 11 registered nurses working in adult or pediatric oncology with advanced nursing degrees (master's or higher) to review the Advanced Certified Oncology Nurse exam and recommend the score a minimally competent nurse would need to pass the test and attain the ACON® credential.

ONCC will host a workshop on January 10-12, 2027 in Pittsburgh, PA.
No prior experience is required, but participants must bring a laptop or electronic tablet. Task force participants will receive instructions and guidance throughout the process. All travel and expenses will be paid by ONCC.

To be considered, you will need the following:
  • A current, active, unencumbered RN License
  • Master's degree, PhD or DNP in nursing
  • 3 years' experience as an RN in the last 5 years
  • 1000 hours of oncology nursing practice within 4 years
  • 1 graduate level oncology course of at least 2 credit hours OR 30 CE hours in adult or pediatric oncology in the last 5 years

Please note these important limitations on selected participants:
  • Members of the Task Force will be granted the ACON™ certification and will need to retest as renewal when the new certification is launched.
  • Members of the Task Force need to meet the eligibility criteria for the Advanced Certified Oncology Nurse certification, which are listed above.
If selected, please expect to submit your resume/CV and CE documentation.
  • Members of the Task Force may not endorse or participate in any review courses, publications, or programs designed to prepare individuals for certification while serving on the Task Force and for two years after.
