2020 GVONS Scholarship Program
Purpose: Assist GVONS members financially with education opportunities
Who: Any GVONS member
Availability: Budgeted funding available annually. Three Early Bird ONS Congress registrations will be awarded annually. $2000 annually is available for general scholarship funding.
Criteria:
- Must be an active GVONS member for minimum of one year
- Funds awarded must be used for educational purposes
- A member may request a scholarship more than once a year, but priority will be given to those who have not requested before in that year.
Process:
- Submit scholarship application.
- Please note on application if scholarship is for Early Bird ONS Congress registration
- There are no deadlines for scholarship requests. A rolling request process continues throughout the year.
- Include program flyer/brochure if available with application
- Submit applications to GVONS Director at Large, including amount requested.
- Applications are blinded, and reviewed by Directors at Large and Board of Directors.
- If the total amount of the request cannot be awarded, the applicant will be notified to see if another amount will satisfy the request.
- Notification of award will be made via telephone or email to recipient from a Director at Large
- Funds will be released after proof of expenditure is provided.
- Submit a brief summary or review for the GVONS web site within 4 weeks of utilizing funds that describe how the money was used and how it benefitted the recipient’s oncology nursing practice.
