I have recently taken a new position as a Lung Navigator at our outpatient cancer center. One of the goals for the center is to develop a lung nodule program. I would love to network with other Lung Navigators. I appreciate any suggestions or feedback you may have. Please contact me via this community or directly at cathy.jenkins@unchealth.unc.edu. Thank you

    Hello Cathy,
Congratulations on being selected to start a lung nodule program.  I would be glad to speak with you and others on starting and/or growing your lung program.  Previously, I was a cancer support program director that had a successful lung nodule program.  I recently joined the Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation as their Senior Manager of Patient Navigation and Clinical Program Development.  My number is 650-779-8286 and email is kparham@lungcancerfoundation.org.

    Hello,

I am glad you reached out! I am recently new to the Lung/Thoracic Oncology Navigator role and developing a lung screening program in Denver, Colorado. I would love to be in touch, share ideas and program development materials as we are all struggling to get a successful program up and running. Specifically an algorithm for Lung Screening. Thank you!

I would be interested in hearing your ideas.  I currently am a general oncology nurse navigator.  A large portion of my patients are lung.  I also coordinate the low dose lung screening program for our organization.

    Hi all!

I'm late to this as well, but I am a general oncology nurse navigator and one of the things we are working on right now is developing a lung cancer navigation program, so I'd like to join your group if you have one and hear ideas.

    Thanks!

    Hi Florence,
Welcome!  Being part of a nonprofit foundation, we can supply you both educational materials to will help both you and your patients all free of charge.  I do have a draft readiness toolkit that I can send you as you begin your program planning.  We can discuss using the AONN metrics that would be significant to your program.  Many navigators are charged with starting an early detection program first while others are looking at the medical oncology piece charged with oral adherence, emergency room admissions, etc.  When I was a cancer director, we looked at time of actionable finding to diagnosis, diagnosis to first treatment, out migration then survivorship plans was added.  Each hospital system will have priorities.  Feel free to contact me at 650-779-8286 or by email at kparham@GO2Foundation.org.  The Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation and Lung Cancer Alliance Foundation just merged two weeks ago to form the new foundation to help better serve the lung cancer community.
    Good Luck!
