Legal assistance

A patient asked me about getting support with "legal issues".  I learned that he meant taking some action re: a doctor's office that did not provide information to him about the possibility of the cancer metastasizing.  So, he wants to look into if it is malpractice.  Do you have any suggestions of how to support such patients?

    Warm Regards,

That's an awkward position to be in.  You're role (IMHO) is that you facilitate.  Have the patient concact Triagecancer.org.  They have a tremendous number of resources.
Great question, and can't wait to hear from others!!

I really don't see it as anything but a triage type question. "Sir if you feel you've been mistreated it is always your legal right to seek counsel". You may not a have a particular resource for him but I'm guessing the yellow pages of most any city are just blown up with lawyers in our highly litigious society!
