I am having more staff experiencing hand fatigue when administering rituximab hycela subcutaneously.  I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and what strategies you might be trying.  We are going to trial using a larger (21 gauge) needle but am curious if there are other options available.

The manufacturer study was done with using 25 and 27 ga. needles. Is the 21 gauge newly approved for subq injections? We are in an active research project regarding this issue. I would be very interested in any information you could share with us. Thank you.

I will let you know what we find out.  Yes the manufacturer did not study the administration with a larger bore needle but we are looking into that option or possible a butterfly needle (also not studied).  I can loop you in on anything we try and how successful it is.
