Welcome to the ONS Communities.  I'm sure you will find so many exciting discussions here.  Remember that you can also choose specific communities to join.  If you have more than one and don't want to get notices from several you can combine them and just get one notice for all communities. I worked in head and neck cancer as a CNS for a long time at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, OH. I hope you enjoy all of the discussions and great info found on the communities.

    Welcome again,

I am a licensed clinical social worker who is currently in an accelerated BSN program. I am interested in oncology nursing once I graduate. I have some experience with cancer support groups from a counseling standpoint but am looking forward to learning more of the nursing aspect of care. I am excited to learn from all of the great resources within this community.

I'm currently in my junior year of undergrad at UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing. I am halfway through and should graduate next May with a BSN. I was just accepted to the Susan D. Flynn Oncology Nursing Fellowship Program and hope to continue on this path to become a pediatric oncology nurse.

My name is Stephanie Karpoff. I am a second degree nursing student finishing my BSN in May. I also work part time doing oncology medical records abstraction for FlatIron Health. Prior to nursing school I managed clinical research studies for almost 20 years, 10 of those focused in oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I am hoping to start my nursing career in New Jersey where I live now. My current goals are to gain clinical skills in acute care and oncology, while balancing being a mother to my two young children. Long term, I plan to merge my regulatory expertise with my nursing skills to help advance clinical oncology research.
I look forward to networking and learning from each of you!

Hello, I'm Jacqalyn! I'm a nursing student at Arizona State University and I'll be graduating in December with my BSN. Before nursing school, I got my Bachelor's in Biology, worked as a respite and habilitation provider for special needs kids, a phlebotomist, and a math and science teacher (not necessarily in that order). I'm very excited about this next chapter of my life and look forward to having a positive impact on patients in the future.
I'm eager to get to know everyone and build some great relationships!

Hi, my name is Tina Marie Guzman, RN, BSN.  I am originally from Chicago where I worked on a unit with various surgical services, including oncology, where I did have experience hanging chemo. I am proudly working in nursing again at University Health System in San Antonio, Texas after being away from the bedside for many years.  My days of hanging chemo are outdated and I am looking forward to learning more and heading toward certification.  I'm glad to be a member of ONS. Thank you.
