Hi everyone! I am struggling to create a PICOT question for my research paper in EB nursing class. I wanted to chose a topic in Oncology to explore. Any ideas or info would be helpful.
    Thank you,
    Stephanie RN

Hi. The two ONS journals have published articles (and ONS Congress abstracts) that included the PICO(T) – maybe looking through those would give you some ideas? Here are two examples (there are numerous others):

"Putting Evidence Into Practice: Evidence-Based Interventions for Oral Agents for Cancer" https://cjon.ons.org/cjon/19/3/supplement/putting-evidence-practice-evidence-based-interventions-oral-agents-cancer -- includes "The search was conducted using the consolidated patient or problem, intervention, comparison, and outcome (PICO) terms shown in Figure 2"

"More Than Skin Deep: Assessing the Dermatologic Toxicities of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Inhibitors" https://onf.ons.org/onf.ons.org/onf/43/2/podium-poster-and-research-abstracts -- includes "PICO: For patients receiving EGFRIs in the outpatient infusion center, what is the effect of using a modified MASCC skin assessment tool compared with the current EHR assessment for identifying and grading skin toxicities and QOL issues?"

Also, I coauthored the ONF article "A Clinical Librarian–Nursing Partnership to Bridge Clinical Practice and Research in an Oncology Setting" https://onf.ons.org/onf/43/5/clinical-librarian-nursing-partnership-bridge-clinical-practice-and-research-oncology and it states the clinical librarian "supports the Nursing Research Fellowship and Nurse Residency programs" and "Attention is given to formulating a PICO (patient problem or population, intervention, comparison, and outcomes) question and developing keyword and controlled vocabulary search strategies for optimal results." You can contact the librarian who supports your EB nursing class, or contact me at library@ons.org and I would be glad to help with ideas for your PICO(T) question based on your particular areas of interest.
