If a patient requires a magnesium infusion and is on Oxaliplatin, must the magnesium be  infused after the infusion of oxaliplatin?

Dona,  My experiences in Manhattan was  magnesium and calcium pre and post Oxali with a slight overlap to contract the total infusion time.  One of our physicians was a lead investigator and the benefit of less peripheral neuropathy outweighed the extra chair time and services.

    Victoria,

In regards to the magnesium replacement. I am referring to , replacing mag because the patient has a low magnesium level. Not because of the peripheral neuropathy study. Sorry for the confusion. Do you run magnesium at the same time as oxaliplatin. They are compatible, but apparently a conflict if it decreases the efficacy of oxali if mag is run at the same time??  Anyone have advise?
