My name is Ruby Gracia. I am currently a student at Phoenix College of Nursing Excellence, concurrently working on my Bachelors at Arizona State University and additionally in the Bilingual Nursing Fellowship Program. I will be graduating in December. I am excited to join and take advantage of meeting wonderful nurses in Oncology. This is the specialty that inspired me to be a nurse. The oncology nurses who helped me with my grandmother's journey in battling cancer, made the biggest difference in the quality of our lives. They embraced our triumphs and heartaches throughout her care.  Anyone who has a love one that is battling cancer or who have lost a person to cancer can understand how difficult and hard it can be for those involved. Experiencing that first-hand, it provided me the drive to pursue a career in the nursing profession and take the opportunity to make other lives better.

I am extremely grateful and have lots of respect for this Speciality.

    Thank you,

    Ruby Gracia

Thanks for sharing your story...I think many oncology nurses have similar stories of how nurses or friends/family with cancer have positively impacted their lives.
I wish you luck in your endeavors. There is such a need for bilingual nurses!
