    Clinical nurse specialists are integrally involved in palliative care of patients with cancer. As such, ONS wants to be sure you are aware of this opportunity.

    The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has provided funding for oncology advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to attend a3-day intensive course on primary palliative care. Two End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC)-Oncology APRNcourses have been held in the past year, with over 160 oncology APRNs attending from all over the US. 


    The third course will be held:

    • September 23–25, 2019 in Atlanta, GA


    The grant covers:

    • Free Registration
    • Course Materials
    • Breakfast/Lunch/Snacks Each Day
    • 19.5 CEs (5.0 designated pharm)
    • $600 stipend to cover three nights of lodging 


    To apply, you must be an oncology APRN with an MSN, MN, DNP, or PhD who works full-time in a cancer setting with either adults or children.   

    *Please note that this grant excludes those who are currently working on a palliative care team.
