Dear Bucks Montgomery Counties Members,
The Bucks and Montgomery Counties Chapter would like to welcome Dr. Jeffrey Sklar.
Dr. Jeffrey Sklar is a Philadelphia native and has been a Chiropractor for over 27 years. He has spent a great many years of his career treating patients with late stage and complex cancers for quality of life issues that can result from chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.
Dr. Sklar is excited to present to our local ONS Chapter on some interventions that nurses may be able to suggest to their Oncology patients. He will spend time discussing the basic principles of patient centered care and how to implement this type of care with the hope of improving patient outcomes and patient/caregiver satisfaction. Dr. Sklar has experienced first-hand that delivering care in a Patient Centered Model is directly linked to improving quality of life.
Additionally, he hopes to share with us some useful strategies that nurses could use to help with compassion fatigue and other stressors that impact the nursing profession and how we perform our jobs on a daily basis.
Presently Dr. Sklar continues to treat cancer patients in addition to his general practice which is located in Chestnut Hill, PA.
